Let Us Stand Shoulder to Shoulder to Support the U.S.-China Cultural Engagement Act
Dear Fellow Chinese Americans:
"For the first time
ever in human history, an economic and military superpower will emerge
without war or warfare, and that is Asia's Middle Kingdom,
China." These were the words of U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman
when he and Senator Lamar Alexander introduced a new bill on the Senate
floor on May 25, 2005.

On September 14, 2005, Senator Norm Coleman, a Republican
from Minnesota, became the 3rd co-sponsor of Sen. Lieberman-Alexander's
U.S.-China Cultural Engagement Act, now S1117 in the Senate. Two
co-sponsors before him are Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Sen.
Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island. S1117 now has 4 guaranteed Yes
votes out of 18 in Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
On July 19, 2005, Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island became the second co-sponsor of the Lieberman-Alexander Act - the U.S.-China Cultural Engagement Act of May 25, 2005!
